This name originates from New Zealand. It is part of the New Zealand Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.

About twelve ridges and spurs, mainly ice-free, extending over a distance of about 27km east-west, including Seay Peak at the northeast extreme. The individual ridges are relatively short, mostly 2-4km long and project northwards from the higher ice-covered surface to the south, and mostly contiguously rocky.
Mapped by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from tellurometer surveys and Navy air photos, 1959-63. The descriptive name was given by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN).
