Chinese show the name as Tangyao Bingxiaqunshan. Extremities (Min Latitude) Latitude = 76°02'S; Longitude = 77°16'E; Elevation = -99 m Extremities (Max Latitude) Latitude = 70°07'S; Longitude = 80°24'E; Elevation = 227 m
Named for Tangyao. It is said that Tangyao was one of the holy Kings in ancient China. When he was the leader of the tribal alliance, the Chinese nation presented a peaceful and prosperous era. Tangyao was not only a model of ideal personality in ethics, but also a model of sovereign governing the country. This is the first Antarctic subglacial mountains named by China. Therefore, we used the name "Tangyao Subglacial Mountains" to display ancient Chinese culture and commemorate ancient outstanding people.
