Narrative

A humped outcrop about 57 km south of Mount Rubin in the southern Prince Charles Mountains; it is about 18 km long and 7 km wide, with a boulder strewn surface and a conical peak near the centre. Plotted from air photographs taken from an ANARE aircraft in 1956. Named after Dr. G. Newton, medical officer at Mawson in 1960.
