A flat-topped mountain, 2,433 m above sea level, on the steep cliffs bordering the northern side of Byrd Glacier, just west of Peckham Glacier. The summit is conspicuously ice-covered, but the south and east-facing sides are relatively ice free. Mapped from air photographs taken by the US Navy.
Named by USACAN after Capt. R.S. Quackenbush, Jnr, USN, Chief of Staff to the Central Group of Task Force 68 during USN Operation Highjump (1946-47).
