The névé at the head of Rennick Glacier in Victoria Land. The Rennick Glacier is a broad glacier, over 300 km long, which is one of the largest in Antarctica. It rises on the polar plateau westward of Mesa Range and takes its name from Rennick Bay where the glacier reaches the sea. The eastern part of the bay was discovered from the ship Terra Nova, of the British Antarctic Expedition (1910-13) under Scott.
The bay was named by the British Antarctic Expedition after Lt. Henry E. de P. Rennick, RN an officer on the Terra Nova British Antarctic Expedition (1910-13). Named by the New Zealand Antarctic Place Names Committee in about 1966 in association with Rennick Glacier.
