Narrative

A nunatak in the central part of the Manning Nunataks in the south-east part of the Amery Ice Shelf. The Manning Nunataks were photographed by ANARE aircraft in 1957. This feature was visited by a geological party from the Soviet Antarctic Expedition on New Year's Day 1966. New Year Nunatak was used as a survey station during the Prince Charles Mountains Survey by ANARE in 1969.
