This name originates from Australia. It is part of the Australian Antarctic Gazetteer.

Narrative

The higher, inland summit peak on Heard Island of the ridge running north-west to Mt Drygalski, at a height of 234 metres. This feature is a monumented trig station connected to the 1980 (then) Division of National Mapping survey. It is referred to in the Antarctic Pilot for anchorage instructions. Named after Con Veenstra, (then) Assistant Director, Division of National Mapping (1980), leader of the Australian National Mapping Expedition, 1980.
