Names that other countries have for this feature:
A prominent peninsula, the northern extremity of which is marked by Cape Darnley, on the eastern extremity of Mac.Robertson Land. Norwegian whalers explored this area in January and February, 1931, naming the cape at the end of this peninsula Bjerkxodden after Reidar Bjerkx of the whale catcher Bouvet II. Since Sir Douglas Mawson's reported sighting of Cape Darnley was on 26 December 1930, the name Cape Darnley is retained for the cape and the name Bjerkx applied to the peninsula.
