A point on the southern side of Nicholson Peninsula, marking the northern entrance to Matterson Inlet. Mapped from air photographs taken by the US Navy.

Named For

Named by USACAN after Lt. Cdr. H.C. Penny, USN, commanding officer of USS Vance, ocean station ship in support of aircraft flights between New Zealand and Antarctica during USN Operation Deepfreeze 1962.
