This name originates from Australia. It is part of the Australian Antarctic Gazetteer.
A prominent point to the north of Sandell Bay on the west coast of Macquarie Island.
The name was applied in the 1917 edition of the Admiralty Chart to a point unnamed on earlier maps. It almost certainly commemorates Captain JK Davis, Captain of SY Aurora and second-in-command of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition 1911-14. Nomenclature Board of Tasmania Regn 19275N / Decn 4890 Named after Captain JK Davis of the AAE.
