A group of seven peaks about 4 km south of Mt. Twintop in Mac.Robertson Land. Two of the peaks were maped by Norwegian cartographers from aerial photographs taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition (1936) and called Sortindane (The South Mountain Peaks). Named for D A Brown, radio operator at Mawson in 1958. The location is for the middle of the range where the altitdue is 1467 metres with the highest point in the range at Gordon Peak with an altitdue of 1484 metres.
