This name originates from Australia. It is part of the Australian Antarctic Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.

Narrative

An ice ridge about 19.3 km wide and about 32.2 km long just east of Jetty Peninsula on the western side of the Amery Ice Shelf. The ridge has a maximum height of 348 m. It was discovered by the ANARE Amery Ice Shelf party led by Max J Corry in 1968.

Named For

Named after Dr. J. Sansom, a member of the Amery party.
