This name originates from Australia. It is part of the Australian Antarctic Gazetteer.

Narrative

A rock in the sea about 3.5 km west of Cave Bay, Heard Island. The name Norvigian Rock appears in a Supplement to the first (1930) Edition of the Antarctic Pilot. The second (1948) Edition omits the accent. The spelling 'Norwegian' was adopted on chart AUS 08 and approved.
