The N-S extension of the Aurora Subglacial Basin. The trench is located within the Australian Antarctic Territory south of Dome C. It was discovered and mapped by radio echo sounding by the Scott Polar Research Institute.
Named after the Peacock (Lieutenant WL Hudson, USN) one of the ships of the United States Exploring Expedition 1830-42.
