The northern of two small lakes or tarns about 0.9 km west of Collerson Lake on Broad Peninsula, Vestfold Hills. The lake marks an important turning point on the overland route between Davis and Ellis Rapids.
Named from an erratic dolerite boulder perched on the skyline on a ridge east of the tarn.
