This name originates from Australia. It is part of the Australian Antarctic Gazetteer.

Narrative

The origin of this name on the north-west coast is uncertain but, after its first publication on the 1917 edition of Admiralty Chart no 1022 it was accepted by Mawson as preferable to the name West Point.
