Background 1. In recognition of the "Star", one of the island's first sealing vesels. 2. "At both islands Hasselborough observed the shores abounding in sea life. Seals, sea-leopards, and sea elephants were in profusion. Penguins were there in the millions. So glowing were his reports on return to Port Jackson on Augsut 17, 1810, that within weeks six vessels were on their way to Macquarie island. The brigs Aurora and Star followed by the ???"
