This name originates from Australia. It is part of the Australian Antarctic Gazetteer.

Narrative

Named by Mawson in 1943 for H Power, meteorologist in charge of the Commonwealth Party which continued the meteorological work of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition on the Island during 1914. He was lost with the 'Endeavour when she disappeared without trace after visiting the Island to relieve the 1914 party.
