A group of rocky hills, including Kemp Peak (340 m), about 5 km south of Fold Island, Kemp Land. The hills extend for about 13 km in a NW-SE direction and are composed of light brown to dark grey banded gneisses. Geological investigations were carried out in this area by D.S. Trail, geologist at Mawson in 1961.
Named after Dr. Frank L. Stillwell, geologist with AAE (1911-14), who derived a theory of metamorphic differentiation from banded gneisses of the same type in George V Land.
