A small island in the extreme south-western part of the Rauer Group off the Ingrid Christensen Coast. Mapped from air photographs taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition (1936-37). Photographed by USN Operation Highjump (1946-47), the Soviet Antarctic Expedition in 1956 and ANARE in 1956 and 1957.
Named Ostrov Forpost (Forpost Island) by the Soviet Expedition.
