Narrative

A small island, with three outliers, in Sandefjord Bay, about 20 km WNW of Mount Caroline Mikkelsen. Plotted by Norwegian cartographers from air photographs taken by Lars Christensen Expedition (1936-37) and called Ystøy (Outer Island). The island was visited several times by members of the ANARE (on MV Nella Dan) led by D F Styles, in January - March, 1968. Named after the boatswain or "bosun" of the MV Nella Dan, who assisted in sounding Sandefjord Bay.
