Esta isla, que no figura en la carta original de la Expedición Antártica Francesa de 1808-1810 al mando del Dr. Jean B. Charcot, fue descubierta por la BGLE de 1934-1937, al mando de Rymill, quien le dio el nombre, que corresponde al de una hija de Frank Debenham, miembro del Comité Asesor de la BGLE. Isla de más al NE y próxima al continente de las islas Debenham, las que se ubican entre el extremo NE de la isla Millerand y la costa, en la bahía Margarita.
