Narrative

Probablemente habría sido avistada por primera vez en 1902-1903 por la Expedición Antártica Sueca de 1901-1903, al mando de Nordenskjöld. El nombre le fue puesto por el FIDS, en 1945, por su forma y posición relativa a la isla Águila, a la isla Cola y a la isla Huevo. Esta isla constituiría el pico (beak) del águila. Isla de forma arqueada, de unas 4 millas de largo y de unos 300 metros de elevación, que se ubica inmediatamente al NE de la isla Águila, en la parte NE del canal Príncipe Gustavo, frente a la costa oriental de la península Luis Felipe.
