Cartografiada por primera vez por la Expedición Antártica Belga de 1897-1899, al mando del teniente Adrien de Gerlache, quien le dio el nombre por el apellido de John Biscoe, quien pudo haber desembarcado en este lugar en febrero de 1832. Ensenada que se abre al NW de punta Biscoe, en la costa SW de isla Anvers, archipiélago de Palmer.
