Narrative

Denominada por la Expedición Antártica Británica de 1934-1937 al mando del comandante John Rymill, en "Pourquoi-Pas", buque de la Expedición Francesa al mando del Dr. Jean B. Charcot que navegó este paso en enero de 1909. Paso que se extiende en una dirección NW-SE entre las islas Dannebrog al NE del islote Roca e islas Argentinas al SW, en la costa W de la península Tierra de O'Higgins. Es un paso limpio y profundo. Las aguas frente a la entrada occidental del paso Francés son sucias y presentan rocas y bajos fondos que hacen peligrosa la aproximación desde esa dirección.
