Fueron cartografiadas por primera vez durante la expedición al mando de Charcot, entre los años 1908-1910. El nombre es de carácter descriptivo y obedece a su configuración geográfica. Agujas situadas al S del monte Bayonne, en la isla Alejandro I. Son cuatros agujas de alturas uniformes.
