El nombre le fue dado por la Expedición Sueca de Otto Nordenskjöld, 1901-1904, por Nils Persson, patrón de la expedición. Situada en la entrada de la bahía Rohss, a 3,5 millas al SSE de cabo Obelisco, en el lado SW de la isla Ross. La isla mide 1 milla de extensión, casi libre de hielos, presenta dos cumbres, la más alta se localiza al N con 213 metros de altura.
