Narrative

La Expedición Antártica Chilena de 1947, al mando del capitán de navío Federico Guesalaga Toro, que efectuó un completo levantamiento de bahía Chile, le dio el nombre punta Cirujano Serrano por el médico del buque expedicionario PF. "Iquique" teniente 1º cirujano Fernando Serrano Reinella, para evitar el nombre compuesto se usa desde 1951, en su forma actual. Punta situada a 8,5 cables al SSW de punta Fort William, sobre la costa occidental de bahía Chile, isla Greenwich, islas Shetland del Sur.
