This name originates from China. It is part of the China Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
Tai Shan is a steep and stone-formed mountain that lies on the north coast of the Nelson Island to the south of Sanmen Xia. The peak is 90 meters high. Near a stone in east part of the mountain, there inhabits lots of giant petrels to reproduce offspring, which forms a unique scenery. It was named when aerial photos surveying and mapping in February 1986.
