This name originates from China. It is part of the China Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
It is a bay located to the east of the Former Soviet Bellingshausen Station storage tanks. The bay is semicircular with huge rocks piling up on the shore. It is a shelter from strong winds, which is also deep making it easy for ships to anchor and to be unloaded. it was named when aerial photos surveying and mapping early 1986.
