Narrative

This archipelago refers to the several islets or reefs of different sizes located to the east of Zhongshan Wan. When the tide ebbs, islets become connected with the shore, while when the tide rises, islets become separated again, floating on the sea. Seen from a distance, they appear to be mandarin ducks playing the water. The archipelago got its name during the survey and mapping of Zhongshan Station in early 1989.
