This name originates from China. It is part of the China Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The four rocky islands lying to the north of Feicui Bandao scattered in the blue sea, appearing to be a rope of pearls fitted into the sapphire. The biggest pair of the islands lay closely to each other. It was named when aerial photos surveying and mapping in 1993.
