Island, rising 200m above Larsen Ice Shelf near the ice front until 1995 when the ice shelf was collapsing. The island lies off the Nordenskjöld Coast about 20 km N of Robertsoninsel and Christensenvulkan and 70 km ENE of Cape Fairweather, Robbeninseln, Weddell Sea. Discovered during expedition 1893/94 (vessels 'Jason' and 'Hertha') under the Norwegian Captain Carl Anton Larsen, financed by the Hamburg Company Woltereck & Robertson.
Carl Lindenberg (1847–1921), co-owner of the Hamburg Company Woltereck & Robertson and sponsor of the expedition. The terrain elevation of the island is shaped like a sugar-loaf.
