This name originates from Germany. It is part of the Germany Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
A glacier S of Rastorguev Glacier, N of Montigny Glacier, all three are passing the Flensing Icefalls before flowing into Lillie Glacier, Bowers Mountains, Oates Land, Victoria Land; Surveyed during the German Antarctic North Victoria Land Expedition 1982/83 (Ganovex III). Later named 'Van Loon Glacier' (Map Mount Soza 1:250,000, SR 57-58/15, USGS 1988) by another board.
Hans-Joachim Martini (1908-1969), German geologist, President (1962-1969) of the Bundesanstalt für Bodenforschung, Hannover (predecessor of the Bundesanstalt für Geowissenschaften und Rohstoffe, BGR) and Professor at the University of Clausthal.
