Important survey reference and viewpoint for geoscientific work during a field campaign 1994/95 of the Institue for Geography, University of Freiburg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
Named in accordance to the mountain 'Schauinsland' ('Panoramic view of the area') located in the mountain chain 'Schwarzwald' (Black Forest), Germany.
