This name originates from Germany. It is part of the Germany Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
A steep and rugged glacier draining the ice sheet of Touchdown Hills into the shear zone of Filchnerschelfeis, 16 km S of Moltkenunatakker and 40 km SSW of Bertrabnunatakker and Belgrano II Station, Prinzregent-Luitpold-Land, Coats Land, Weddell Sea; initially named 'Freiherr-von-Wiedenmann-Gletscher'. Discovered during Deutsche Antarktische Expedition 1911/12 under Wilhelm Filchner.
Peter Freiherr von Wiedenmann (1847-1917), Adjutant General of Prinzregent Luitpold von Bayern, promoter of the expedition.
