Wohlthatmassiv is a large complex of several mountain ranges and chains, comprising (from W to E): Alexander-von-Humboldtgebirge (Norwegian name Humboldtfjella), Skeidshovden, Westliche Petermannkette (Norwegian names Sfinksen, vestre Petermannkjeda and Zwieselhøgda), søre Petermannkjeda, Mittlere Petermannkette (Norwegian name midtre Petermannkjeda), Östliche Petermannketten (Norwegian name austre Petermannkjeda), and Otto-von-Gruber-Gebirge (Norwegian name Gruberfjella). Discovered during German Antarctic Expedition 1938/39 ('Neuschwabenland-Expedition') under Alfred Ritscher;
