Narrative

Bras de mer situé dans l'archipel de Pointe-Géologie, entre les îles Le Mauguen (anciennement Alexis-Carrel) et Jean-Rostand. Nom donné en raison du grand nombre de poussins de manchots empereurs qui, emportés par les tempêtes de sud-est, viennent y mourrir. Ancien  nom: cette appellation remplace le nom d'origine "vallée des Martyrs", donné par l'expédition antarctique française ayant pour chef M. Marret en 1952, terme impropre pour une voie de circulation maritime.
