Narrative

rising to c. 700m, SSW of Cape Worsley, Nordenskjöld Coast, were surveyed by FIDS from Hope Bay , 1960-61; in association with the names of pioneer designers of oversnow vehicles grouped in this area, named after Lieut. Col. Mieczyslaw Gregory Bekker, RCE, Polish born Canadian engineer; author of Theory of land locomotion (Ann Arbor, 1956), a comprehensive source of information on the physical relationship between snow mechanics and track-laying vehicles, skis and sledges (APC, 1964, p.2; BAS 250 sheet SQ 19-20/4, 1-DOS 1974).
