SE of Cape Shirreff, Livingston Island, was roughly charted by Fildes in 1820-21 and called descriptively Black Head (Fildes, 1821c) or Blak [sic] Head (Fildes, 1827, p.452); recharted by DI in 1935 and named Black Point (Nelson and others, chart, 1935b; BA chart 1774, 9.vii.1948; APC, 1955, p.5; DOS 610 sheet W 62 60, 1968). Punta Negra [translation of English name] (Chile. IHA, 1974, p.208).
