E side of Hope Bay, Trinity Peninsula, draining N into Eagle Cove, was discovered by SwAE and named Boeckella-See after a crustacean found in the lake, probably the species now classified as Pseudoboeckella poppei (Nordenskjöld, 1905a, map facing p.246); surveyed by FIDS in December 1945 and renamed Lake Boeckella (BA chart 3213, 6.x.1950; APC, 1955, p.6; DOS 310 Hope Bay sheet, 1961). Lago Boeckella (Argentina. MM, 1953, p.311; Chile. IHA, 1974, p.49). Lake Boekella [sic](Fuchs, 1953, p.4).
