Narrative

W of Patuxent Range and Neptune Range, Pensacola Mountains, flowing N into Ronne Ice Shelf, was seen from the air by Grupo Aeronaval UT 78 on the first Argentine flight to the South Pole in January 1962 and called Glaciar Bahía Buen Suceso, after the AAE transport ship Bahía Buen Suceso (Argentina. MM, NM 21/1.xi.1964); photographed from the air by USN in 1964 and named Foundation Ice Stream after the US National Science Foundation, a prime supporter of USARP (USGS sheet SU 16-20/16, 1968; APC, 1974, p.4).
