E entrance point of Potter Cove (q.v.), King George Island, was called Punta Baliza [=beacon point] by Araya and Hervé (1966, p.17); later called Punta Elefante by AAE after the elephant seal (Mirounga leonina), in connexion with the establishment of SSSI No. 13 in this vicinity under the Antarctic Treaty.
