NW entrance point of Wylie Bay, Anvers Island, was roughly charted by GAE, 1873-74 (Stieler, 1875, map 11); further charted by FAE, 1903-05, and named Cap Albert de Monaco after HSH Prince Albert I of Monaco (1848-1922), a patron of the expedition and of FAE, 1908-10, who supported the oceanographic programmes; Founder of the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco (1910) and of the Oceanographic Institute, Paris (1911) (Charcot, 1906b, p.15; 1906a, map facing p.316).
