highest mountain (1265m) on Coronation Island, at head of Sunshine Glacier, was surveyed by FIDS from Signy, 1948-49, and named after the snow petrel (Pagodroma nivea) which breeds in this locality (APC, 1955, p.16; DOS 510 South Orkney Islands, West Sheet, 1963); resurveyed by FIDS from Signy, 1956-58, and climbed, 11 September 1956.
