Narrative

rising to c. 500m on W side of Mars Glacier, E Alexander Island, was photographed from the air by RARE in 1947; roughly surveyed by FIDS from "Stonington Island" in 1949 and named in association with the glacier, Phobos being the inner of the two satellites of Mars (APC, 1955, p.17; DOS 610 sheet W 71 68, 1960); mapped by FIDS in 1959 from RARE air photographs.
