This name originates from Italy. It is part of the Italy Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
Lagoon (axes 200x120m; seasonal ice covering) located 500m S of historical "snow cave site" at Inexpressible Island, nearby the penguin rookery (hence the name). Surveyed and named by V. Libera during the IV Italian Antarctic Expedition (1988-89).
