Narrative

A high plateau in the central Queen Alexandra Range, approximately 200 square miles in extend and varying from 2700 to over 3900m in elevation. It is bordered by the peaks of Bell, Mackellar and Kirkpatrick. Named by the Northern Party of the NZGSAE, 1961-62, for George Grindley, a senior geologist of the party.
