Narrative

A small plateau which is snow-covered except for the Kappen Cliffs, an almost vertical rock scarp marking its southern side. The plateau rises gently towards the northwest to the heights of Mount Marston, situated at the west side of Granite Harbour in Victoria Land. Feature shown on: NZ AntTopo50-MC09

Named For

Charted and named by the British Antarctic Expedition (Terra Nova expedition, BrAE), 1910-13. "Kar" is a Turkish word meaning "snow".
