A peak about 640m high, at the north-eastern extremity of a wide spur extending into the Ross Ice Shelf from the foothills of the Prince Olav Mountains. Discovered and photographed by the Byrd AE, 1928-30, in November 1929, and named for Howard F Mason, radio engineer who wintered with that expedition.
